Random Rant . . .
Okay, so I know it's been a while since I posted any new stuff, but I don't have time to burn my pictures from this last summer to the Sony video cam, the upload. I just don't have time. I've been blurking around and found some pretty amusing rants, so I thought I need to rant.
Insomnia has hit me. I'm usually up at 2am every night and I can't go back to sleep. Last night was no exception. Usually, it's my brain that won't turn off with the endless list of things I need to do the next day. But last night was random. For some crazy reason I was trying to remember the name of the first Colonel on Mash. I could think of Colonel Sherman Potter, but only Henry ... completely blank. I try not to get out of bed hoping I'll fall back asleep, but after a few hours I give up and go play solitaire and check out blogs. I think last night's bought of insomnia was caused by my new cold medicine, Claritan-D 12 hour.
Speaking of cold medicine, the reason I was taking Claritan-D is because my old cold medicine, Drixoral, isn't on the shelf anymore. I searched the web to discover I am not the only outraged cold sufferer. After reading dozens of 'I need Drixoral' rants, I discovered lots of useful information: 1) Drixoral is on hold while they move the manufacturing plant and should be back on the shelves in USA by 2010; 2) You can buy it from Canada web pharmacies; 3) Others warned to stay away from Canada pharmacies now charging $45 a box; 4) The active ingredient in Drixoral that works is pseudophedrine SULPHATE while all the rest use pseudophedrine HCI (the non-druggie version); 5) Claritan-D 12 hour has the same pseudophedrine sulphate that drixoral has, but not the sleep aid ingredient. HENCE, my insomnia last night. But my nose is clear!!!!! Small victories.
As for small victories, Grant got an A on his Algebra Quiz !!!!!!!!!! Yeah !!!!!!!!!! We have been using the white board every night doing Algebra. I think this is my fifth time through Algebra if you count mine. I love Algebra. I wish I could teach it to all the kids that just can't get it from the teachers. Unfortunately, that would be a pay cut. Another rant, teachers should get paid more !!! And with a little encouragement from me, Brad has settled on a Secondary Education major for teaching Algebra. He'll be great at it !! Now if only they would pay teachers more, and allow parents to vote bad ones out like on Survivor. Or make them pass a proficiency exam in actually teaching. It could happen . . .
